Privacy Policy

1. What you give us directly

The SlideShare link you paste. We send it to our own extraction service to build your PDF or PPT. We store the presentation's address and title so that, if you have an account, it can appear in your library.

Account details, only if you register. That means your name, email address, and a hashed password — or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email address, and profile picture that Google shares with us. We never see or store your Google password.

Ratings you submit. If you leave a star rating and comment, we store the rating, the comment, your account id (if signed in), and the IP address the rating came from, so we can spot abuse.

2. Usage analytics

We run our own first-party analytics — no Google Analytics, no advertising trackers, and nothing is sold or shared with ad networks. For every visitor, signed in or not, we record:

• Pages viewed, clicks on key buttons, scroll depth, and time spent on a page.
• The download funnel: when a conversion starts, finishes, or fails, plus the presentation's SlideShare id, title, slide count, and resulting file size.
• Account events: registration, sign-in, email verification, and ratings submitted.
• Your IP address, which we use to derive an approximate country/region/city — we do not use it to identify you personally.
• Your browser, operating system, device type, and the referring site or campaign parameters that brought you here.

To tell repeat visits apart we set a first-party cookie named ss_vid containing a random identifier. It lasts about two years, is not linked to any advertising network, and holds no personal information.

Raw analytics rows are kept on our server for roughly 90 days and are also mirrored into a private spreadsheet that only the site operators can open.

3. Your converted files

If you are not signed in, we do not keep a personal copy of your file. The generated document sits in a short-lived cache on our server so the download link works, and is cleared automatically.

If you are signed in, the generated PDF is saved to your private library so you can download it again later. Only you can access it. Deleting a document from your dashboard removes both the database record and the stored file, and deleting your account removes everything we hold for you.

4. Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data. It is handled by a small number of providers purely so the service can function: our hosting provider, our email provider (for verification codes), Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google), and an IP-geolocation lookup used to turn an IP address into an approximate city. We may disclose information if we are legally required to.

5. Your choices

You can use the downloader without an account. You can delete any saved document, or your whole account, from your profile page at any time. You can clear the ss_vid cookie through your browser settings. If you want a copy of, or the deletion of, data we hold about you, contact us and we will action it.

6. Children

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

7. Changes and contact
